make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.
I was recently able to sit down for a phone interview with Jershon Lopez, Product Manager and Software Engineer for Innovator’s DNA. My first question for Jershon was “What exactly is iDNA? What do you do?” I wanted to know what it means on their website when it says “increase creative capacity.” He explained to me how Innovator’s DNA has developed, and is continuing to develop, software products that help individuals, teams, and entire organizations improve their ability to innovate. They are doing so by interviewing dozens of inventors and founders or CEOs of revolutionary products and companies.
By researching and investigating these innovative and game-changing people, they’ve been able to discover five personality traits and behaviors that are specific to innovators and leaders. They then use this information to assess a company and see what kind of innovative capabilities their employees have so they can help them improve those capabilities where needed. Essentially they’ve decoded the DNA of an innovator (hence, “Innovator’s DNA”) and are using what they’ve learned to spread the innovative wealth.
To be able to take something as crucial to the success of a company as innovation and figure out a way to teach it really is impressive. Stephen Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, says “Innovator’s DNA sheds new light on the once-mysterious art of innovation by showing that successful innovators exhibit common behavioral habits—habits that can boost anyone’s creative capacity.” Innovator’s DNA has taken an innovative approach to the run-of-the-mill self-help and employee workshops. This is more than just team-building exercises or public speaking courses. Their suite of digital software products will be the defining factor in which companies survive the ever changing demands of the public and which ones choke under the pressure. The team at Lift Media is honored to have been chosen to help them in this endeavor.
Referred to Lift by a mutual friend, Jershon says Lift Media is “the right blend of professionalism and a down-to-earth dev team.” He expressed how he’s had the “unique opportunity to work side by side” with the Lift team and actually learn from them during the process – “we built the software together, it was fun.” As a Software Engineer at iDNA, Jershon has a strong background in development. Lift Media was able to supplement the help he needed and get him to a place where he could feel comfortable taking over. Lift Media offers this sort of help to any team that just needs a little extra muscle in the development department.
We wish the best of luck to the Innovator’s DNA team and have truly enjoyed working with them.
